1.    Introduction:

Sameera Reddy made her debut in Bollywood in 2002 with “Maine Dil Tujhko Diya”. She is well-known for her “Item-Girl” appearances in most of her films. But she has also proven her capability as a powerful actress as well. She is very much professional and career oriented. Sameera was first noticed in her fourth film “Musafir”. She was not able to make overnight fame and success like the new sensations – Deepika Padukone and Asin. But she was lucky enough to make some space for her in Bollywood. Sameera started her career as a model; gradually she made it in Bollywood.
Sameera is also known as Sam, Musafir Girl etc.

Height: 5′ 7″ (1.70 m)

2.    Biography:

(a)    Birth:

Sameera Reddy was born on December 17, 1982 in the Telegu speaking Reddy family. She is from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. She is the youngest of the three sisters. Her two sisters, Meghna and Sushma have a great influence over her being actress.

(b)    Early Life:

Sameera started her educational life in her home town, Rajahmundry. Sameera is a graduate from Sydenham College. Sameera put her first step in showbiz world with “Ahista”, a Pankaj Udhas music video, she was only 17 then. Sameera then took a number of modeling assignments, inspired by her two sisters – Meghna and Sushma Reddy. She was noticed by the film personals and was assigned in a Telegu films, she soon appeared in Bollywood as well. Sameera Reddy is a very close relative to Business tycoon Vijay Mallya. Sameera is single till date.

3.    Career:

Sameera Reddy’s Bollywood journey is yet another typical struggle-tale. She started with modeling and music video. Then Sameera got a break in Bollywood. Before stepping in Bollywood, Sameera worked in Telegu film as well. Sameera’s debut film in Bollywood was “Maine Dil Tujhko Diya” in 2002. The film was not a big success but Sameera was noticed for her dazzling beauty and sexy appearance. Sameera’s next release was Ram Gopal Varma’s “Darna Mana Hai” in 2003. This was a horror movie and was a box-office failure.
2004 was the turning point of Sameera’s career. Though her first movie of the year “Plan” flopped, her second of the year and fourth of her short Bollywood career – “Musafir” was one of the highest grossing film of the year. Her performance in this movie received a lot of critic’s comments and audience reaction was also over whelming. Sameera has done quite a number of South and Bengali films as well. After the success of “Musafir”, Sameera did a number of films, but most of them were flop. “Taxi No. 9211” (2006) was a big release for her, it did well in the box-office but, failed as a commercial. Her next releases of 2006, “Ashok” and “Naksha” were super flops.
2007 was another tiring year for this struggler, she did as many as 4 films that year, but none of them was remarkable. “No Entry” did a small business though, “Fool N Final” and “Ami, Yasin Ar Amar Madhubala” – a Bengali movie from Kolkata were among the flops.
2008 brought some good luck for Sameera, as she acted in “Kalpurush” another Kolkata movie, which was a great success. Her Bollywood films did well as well in this year. “One Two Three” – the comedy did very well business, though it received negative comments from the critics; while “Race” was one of the highest grossing films of the year. Sameera’s latest release is a South Indian Tamil Cinema. “Varnam Aayiram” brought her a huge success and she received the taste of real blockbuster this time. Sameera Reddy is believed to have lost weight for “Varnam Aayiram” and done extensive make up to pull off a slim, good looking, sexy modern girl. This was the finest performance she has delivered till now.
Sameera is currently busy with “Asal” and “De Dana Dan”.

4.    Awards, Achievements and Recognitions:

Sameera is still a struggler and hasn’t received any big titles yet. But she is already reigning in the hearts of her millions of fans. As a symbol of fashion, sex, and beauty, Reddy has graced the covers of many magazines. She is the subject of many documentaries including the BBC’s Spice Trade. Sameera relaced Spice Girl Emma Bunton in this BBC show to experience celebrity life in the UK and was asked to be a guest actor on the hit series “Casualty”.
Sameera is very much engaged to her social welfare works. She spends significant amounts of her pricy time with Crayons and Dreamz Homes, vision for getting homeless children off the streets of India.

5.    Affairs, Relationships:

Sameera had, comparatively a less rumors spread about her relations and romance. She had a boyfriend named NTR Junior, but they broke up years ago. Now Sameera is living all alone. Sameera is now more conscious about her career rather making boyfriends. That has brought some significant and instant result in 2008, most of her films being successful!
